It’s that time of the year again friends…the holiday season is here! Who is ready? I know I am!
I can’t wait to cozy up on the couch, eat all the holiday foods, and spend quality time with my friends and family. This time of the year truly is wonderful. It reminds us to pause, take a breath, and be grateful for the present moment; because there’s no moment more beautiful than the one we’re in, and we’ll never get it back.
But before we start daydreaming about the holidays and all the joy they bring, let’s take care of business.
It can be difficult trying to balance your work life and your home life, especially during the holidays; but nothing is more important than making space to spend time with your family. You deserve this time off, and it’s more than obtainable if you plan and strategize, NOW.
You still have time to set yourself up for success, and get your house in order so that when you come back, your business is still the way you left it (and thriving.)
Have you talked with all your team members and figured out everyone’s schedule for the end of the year? If not, get something on the books so that everyone knows who will be out when, that way there is no confusion.
Have you set boundaries with your team? It’s best to let everyone know when and what you will respond to during your time off. Designate a form of emergency communication in case something pops up. Be sure to encourage your team to set boundaries as well.
Are there any projects or tasks you can work ahead on now? Brainstorm on your team call and see what you can get ahead on.
Lastly, are your processes and systems up-to-date? This will save you so much time and peace of mind while you’re away. Make sure your automations are refreshed so that people know you’re still there, just not right now.
