A New Perspective to Reaching Your Goals

three-woman-talking-in-front-of-desk-with-computer

Can you believe we are already heading into the second quarter of the year? It feels like just yesterday it was January 1st! I’m sure you’ve probably heard of the statistic that more than half of people that set new year’s resolutions ditch those resolutions by February.

But, we want to help you keep the ball rollin’! So take this as your quarterly reminder to revisit those goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year!

Think of it as a goals audit.

You know our team is all about the power of perspective. We like to think of goals as lifestyle changes instead of resolutions. When we switch the perspective of our goals being something we need to cross off our list to daily habits for a better quality of life – it takes the pressure off our shoulders to reach something unrealistic, and gives us the space to be more present.

It’s about the journey, not the destination.

We recommend breaking down the goals you’ve set for yourself month-by-month.

For example, write all the months down and for each month, pick a theme (like physical health, mental health, spiritual, emotional, professional, etc.) or a specific goal you’d like to focus on for that month. For example, maybe for the month of May, you want to focus on your physical health. Are there any specific goals that you set for yourself at the beginning of the year in regards to that?

What are some daily habits you can let go of or introduce that will help you to achieve this goal?

Write those down, and day-by-day, try to hold yourself accountable to taking those action steps.

It only takes 30 days to make or break a habit.

When looking at this through a bigger lens, you’ll find that it only takes 30 days to start creating the life you’ve always dreamt of.
