One of the most common things I hear from business owners is “I don’t know, I’m not good at this, but you are, so you tell me what I need to do”. If this sentence tells you anything, it’s that clients are looking to work with experts who can lead the conversation, take initiative and get things done!

Your client did not hire you because they wanted to boss someone around. No, they hired you because they are looking to utilize your expertise and experience in their business!
Remember, you are not an employee. You are a contractor, a partner, a colleague. It’s a different working dynamic. And different dynamics require a different approach and attitude.
Inevitably our clients will bring us a request that we aren’t familiar with or have no experience in. In those situations, it’s okay to say “I am not sure right this moment, but I will figure it out for you”!
We are here to provide solutions, even if those solutions are ones we are not familiar with. The hallmark of a good VA is a curiosity and willingness to learn and dive into the unknown. But, we need to be sure we are doing it with the right confidence and attitude, one that says, we got this! You are right to trust in us!
Take initiative. Be the expert. Your clients will love you for it!
